Blended inquiry means engaging students effectively across the NZ curriculum in science, social studies, technology and sustainability. Science and STEM provide many options to use the freedom we have within the NZC to engage learners in authentic contexts. So it makes perfect sense to use science and STEM to lead local curriculum. Natural links to other curriculum areas present opportunities to integrate across the learning areas, connecting new knowledge and understanding in a durable manner. As with all the work we do, we look to build teacher confidence using this and the leverage of tools and contexts available to maximise positive outcomes.
