They have undergone comprehensive structured literacy professional learning and effectively implemented these approaches. With a diverse array of qualifications and leadership roles in literacy across schools, they have honed their expertise in applying the science of learning to reading and writing instruction, fostering a profound understanding in this domain.
Tracey Waller
Tracey, a highly experienced and qualified educator dedicated to implementing evidence-based literacy practices. Tracey has facilitated training on the Science of Reading (SOR), Science of Learning (SOL), and structured literacy approaches. As a SPELD Kaiarahi, she guides teachers through theory to practice, ensuring effective implementation of structured literacy interventions. Tracey's expertise extends to developing literacy resources for parents and conducting tiered interventions for students with dyslexia, making her an invaluable asset to both educators and learners alike.
Elena Ciobanu
Elena is a distinguished educator with extensive experience facilitating PLD for hundreds of educators in evidence-based literacy and numeracy methods, including Structured Literacy and cognitive load theory. She has developed courses focused on literacy, numeracy, and learning disabilities, and is dedicated to transformative professional development. Her qualifications include a BEd, MEdDevPsych, and a SPELDNZ Teaching Certificate, with ongoing doctoral studies in effective PLD.

Sam Allis
Sam Allis brings over 10 years of primary teaching experience and a deep understanding of structured literacy. She has led school-wide implementation of structured literacy and delivers professional learning through presentations, parent information evenings, and workshops at national events like Sharing Best Practice, the NZLA Literacy Symposium and runs parent workshops to foster wider understanding of literacy approaches. She also supports teachers with lesson planning, assessment, and classroom coaching.
